Video Game Journalist 4

The video game is called Agar.io and it can be found on Agari.io. It's a multiplayer game and you can choose a game mode. The game modes are Free for all, Battle royal, Teams, and Experimental. There's a leaderboard that you can climb. I've only got up to 13th place on the board. The cell's skin can be changed but that's not available to guests. You can type a name for the cell that you control. I tend to choose a name at random. The background is a grid and has a border that makes you squish when you go up against it. You use the mouse to control your cell. Press space to split it and 'W' to eject some mass.
The objective is to increase your cell's mass by swallowing small pellets that randomly appear and smaller cells. You must do this without getting eaten yourself, which is harder than you think. Unfortunately, I kept getting eaten. The more mass you gain the slower you go. There's also viruses (make you split), which are indicated at big spiky green circles, that you have to avoid as well as other players. Sometimes there's some lag, but no obvious glitches are apparent.

The Scratch game is called 'Spoopy-Time' Dress Up! and can be found on Scratch. It's a dress up game that's Halloween themed. The game was made on October 21, 2019 so the Halloween theme is quite appropriate. The start of the game is a curtain of skulls that move up and down to reveal the next screen. The maker definitely made the backgrounds themselves. The backgrounds are so spooky and macabre. The animation is static and all you do is click on buttons on the screen to change the appearance of the model.
There's a button to change the model's skin, hairstyle, costume, the brightness of the hair color, and body type. There's also a button to change the background and buttons for the sound/music. I usually do keep the music muted so I don't bother anyone. Some of the buttons don't seem to do anything, but change is just slight and not that noticeable. The music is very upbeat and completes the overall Halloween theme. I didn't find any glitches or bugs so the coding was done well. I would definitely recommend this game to others.

The video game is called 'Mahjong Classic' and it can be found on Kongregate.com. It's similar to solitaire, but instead of cards there are tiles that you have to match. There is an oriental theme and the animation simple. The maker probably put time into designing the background. There's a hint, shuffle, pause, restart, and a undo button. The hint, shuffle, and undo buttons have 3 jewels next to them. They definitely limit the times you can use them. It has 60 solvable levels. Each level has a different format and that makes it interesting and challenging.
You have to match open pairs of tiles and remove them from the board. Opened tiles are highlighted and can be removed if they don't disturb either right or left tiles next to them. All flower tiles are considered identical, the same with the season ones. That's how many times you can use each of the 3 buttons. The music sound oriental and was probably taken off a website. I usually mute the music and sound because I sometimes listen to music on YouTube in the background. I haven't found any glitches or bugs. I really find this game soothing and fun. I would definitely recommend this game to others.

  • If you click on a tile, it lights up as selected.
  • Click on the matching tile, both get removed from the board.
  • If you click on the hint button, a hint is used and one of the jewels disappears.

The video game is called 'Monst' and it can be found on Kongregate.com. It's a point and click game. It's a side scroll, so the architecture is flat and a bit cartoony. The colors are somewhat subdued and set the tone of the game. In the game you have to help a monster scare his victims by causing a string of chain reactions and actions. There are fourteen levels. For each level you complete you get a medal and can move on to the next one. The scares are very funny and make me laugh every time.
The animation is very cute and lighthearted. The screen shrinks into a circle like it does in a cartoon and monster winks at you. The puzzles are fun and easy. The man in the safe is a bit strange though. The music is cartoony and reminds me of the Scooby Doo cartoon music. Perhaps the game creator is a fan. I do keep the volume down so I don't bother people. No bugs or glitches, so the coding is done well.  The ending was hilarious. All his victims ends up in his apartment and scares the daylights out of him. Definitely karma.

Video Game Journalist 8

The video game is called 'Mini Scientist' and it can be found on Kongregate.com. It's a point and click game. Enable the flash first if you are using the up to date Chrome. Its a good idea to use an external mouse if you are on a laptop as too much clicking can wear out your mousepad. I've done that a few times. Its a side scroll, so the architecture is flat and cartoony. The coloring reminds me of a cartoon. In the game, you have to help a scientist retrieve an engine for his rocket by creating a chain of actions that will unlock each level.
The puzzles are fun and easy to figure out. For example you have to call an airstrike to get an obstacle out of the way. I feel a little guilty though, that poor girl. The music is a bit goofy and a little catchy. I usually keep the volume off, so I don't bother others. There are references to other games, which is quite amusing. The game creator is clearly a fan of Super Mario. There doesn't seem to be any bugs or glitches. Kind of wish for a sequel so I can see the consequences of getting the rocket engine. I would definitely recommend this game to others.

Ancient Roman Town

This is an ancient Roman town that I made in Sketchup. I used a picture as a template. The walls were down with the picture removed.

The video game is called 'Cat in Japan' and it can be found on Kongregate.com. You may have enable the flash if you are using the up to date version of Chrome. It's a point and click game. I would advise you use an external mouse to play this game on a laptop. I've worn out the mousepad on my laptop playing point and click games. Too much clicking in a short amount of time is not good for it. In the game, you have to find 20 sushi, by solving puzzles, for Bonte Cat. He had arrived in Japan and has been dreaming of sushi. Unfortunately this game made me crave sushi.
The puzzles are easy, but fun to figure out. I like how the clues to the puzzles are visible in the game background. You don't have look at the walkthrough in the comments, like for some games. I don't see any glitches or bugs, so the coding is well done. The game animation is flat, reminiscent of an old cartoon. If you click on something it moves, following normal physics. It's has very colorful and bright architecture, but its very flat. The music matches the setting of the game, which is Japan. I recommend this game and the rest of the Bonte Cat series.

Video Game Journalist 6

The video game is called 'Neil the Nail' and it is played on PC. It can be found on Kongregate.com. I like that its easy to play and is a point and click. It's a 3D side scroll and is controlled by the mouse. You have to use your mouse to cause a chain of reactions and actions. Some of the reactions have amusing results. I don't see anything that needs to be improved, so it is probably been debugged or the coding was done well.
The music reminds me of an adventure or a spy movie, but it is a bit annoying so I leave it muted. Some of the parts are timed and you have to move fast. The shadows are very realistic and is correct for the lighting in the game. The textures are realistic and well done. In the story, its the eternal battle against the evil hammers. The protagonist is Neil the nail and he must find Mr. Magnet. The game is hilarious and I would recommend it to others. I do wish there was a sequel though.

Video game Journalist 5

The video game is called Adam and Eve. It's is a point and click game. You play it on PC and can be found on kongregate.com. In the game, you have to help Adam find paradise and meet Eve. The game is apparently set in the prehistoric times and is reminiscent of the Flintstones. It's a 2D game and similar to a side scroll game, but is controlled with the mouse. It's easy and a bit short, but is interesting enough to keep you going. I haven't found any glitches, which means the coding is good or at least debugged.
The music is relaxing, but can be distracting and can bother others. I leave the music muted. The animation is a bit flat, but the creativity makes you for that. The ending is hilarious (Adam is knocked out by a falling apple, bitten off the branch by the serpent, and Eve drags him away by the foot), and I think there's a sequel. If you click on the something, it will move. If you click on Adam without removing the obstacles are removed, he will grimace or shrug. If you do remove the obstacles, he will run to the next part of the game.

Video Game Journalist 4

The video game is called Dreams. Its a difference game and mouse only. It can be found on Kongregate.com. You can play with and without hints, its your choice. I usually play first with the hints and then play it without hints. The differences seem to change each time you play, which adds to the challenge. The story is of a girl and her journey through a dream that she is having during class. The ending is a mesh of the dream and that of the waking world. You could also download the game and get extra scenes.
The art is beautiful and has a very dream-like feel. I find this game very soothing to play and helps with stress. The music is very appropriate for the game's setting, but I usually keep it off so I don't bother others. The only animation is the effect for when you click on a difference. There's a score board and a counter for the the differences that can be found in the level. It gets harder as you go. I haven't found any glitches so far, but it did freeze at one point, but that might've been the computer and not the website or the game. Overall I definitely recommend this game to others.

Video game Journalist 3

The video game is called 'Must Escape the Wizard's Castle. It's a click and point escape puzzle game. It can be found on Kongregate.com. You must complete 3 tasks in order to leave the castle. The tasks are: rid the castle of spiders, put away missing books, and light all unlit torches. There are a few puzzles to complete. Some of the puzzles are hard and some are easy. The graphics are bit flat, but it makes that up with the creativity and interesting setting. The music is very fitting, but can be a bit distracting and annoying.
There is a little bit of animation, such as the different colored flames and when you click on certain things. You can click to pick things up or add to your inventory. When you click on the spiders with the wand equipped they poof and a coin appears. After you complete all the tasks the exit appears and you click on the arrow to leave. There doesn't seem to be any glitches that I can detect. I would definitely  recommend this game to others.

Scratch Game

It's a 2 player boat race game. Player 1 is controlled by the mouse and player 2 is controlled by the arrow keys. It is possibly unbeatable, so good luck!

Video Game Journalist 2

The video game is called Alxemy and can be found on Kongregate.com. You basically combine elements together to create new elements in order to populate your world from the ground up. It's similar to the Doodle God games. There are eight categories to unlock. They are: natural elements, miscellaneous, sea creatures, plants, reptiles/amphibians, birds, mammals, and insects.
It's a mouse only puzzle game. There's a helper that gives you hints and an handbook that can give you the combinations if you're stuck. There's not much animation. It makes up the lack of animation with the creativity and the colors. So far I haven't found any glitches. I really enjoy this game and I would definitely recommend it.

  • If you hover the mouse over an object it will give you what it had been combined with.
  • Click to drag element into the transmutation circle
  • The helper will tell you if you try to combine elements that are the final form of it.

The video game is called Tanooky Tracks. It's played on PC and can be found on the Kongregate website. It's a hidden object game. The story is that Tanookys are playful spirits that love to possess objects that match their personalities and you have to find them.  It's kinda like hide and seek. There's a hint book that gives you clues and what objects will draw them out of hiding. The characters are interesting and entertaining. The riddles are fun and interesting, some easy and some are hard. I had trouble with finding all 10 coins.
It's a point and click game and mouse only. The graphics are fine, but a bit flat. It shows a cross section of a three story house that is a bit eclectic. Each level is apparently set up for different purposes. There's a kitchen, a game room, a bedroom, and a pool table room. The sound is annoying and  a bit distracting. There seems to be no glitches that I can detect. Overall the game is fun and interesting.
